Mother's Day Facts

1. Anna Reeves Jarvis first created “Mother’s club days” to teach mothers childcare.

2. Our Mother’s Day was created in 1908 by Anna Jarvis (Anna Reeve Jarvis’ Daughter) to honor the sacrifices mothers made for their children.

3. Mother’s Day became a national holiday in 1914.

4. Over 40 countries celebrate some form of Mother’s Day.

5. In America Mother’s Day is the second Sunday in May, but other places celebrate on different days.

6. The highest number of children born to one mother was 69.
