“Sonnet of a Train Wreck”

Midnight Dancing on a darkened track

not hearing the oncoming train

unaware the ending must be pain

together forging a connection they lack

telling lies like promises without looking back

nothing to offer; nothing to gain

entangled limbs in front of a train

mindless of danger roaring down their track

mistakes by which they are bound

unknowingly they cause their own demise

too busy being lost in each others eyes

ears deaf to the rumbling sound

love drunk kisses their last goodbyes

when the engine rolled through their chosen ground.
